Black and white, dark and light. When these two colors are combined in clothing, you have fashion done right.

Black and white: Polar opposites; contrasting colors – perfection.

Black is the color of the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, creating an air of mystery. The color black, in psychology, keeps things bottled up inside, tucked away from the world.

White is color at its most complete and pure, the color of perfection. The color meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion.
Combine these two powerful colors in fashion, and you have an eye catching, stylish ensemble that is sure to set you center stage.

In color psychology, white is the color of new beginnings, wiping the slate clean, so to speak. White is the blank canvas waiting to be written or drawn upon. The color white is cleanliness personified, the ultimate in virginal, pristine purity. Think of brides wearing white.

Black is the absorption of all color and the absence of light. Black hides, while white brings to light. What black covers, white uncovers. Black elicits power and control, while white conjures up feelings of openness and letting go.

When put together right, black and white worn as one creates an amazing fashion sight!

Nancy’s Black and White Fashion Tip: Mixing black and white is similar to tossing together naughty and nice, spicy and bland, hot and cold, push and pull. As far as accessories go, when wearing black and white from head to toe, I feel that silver jewelry stands out over gold. The color silver pulls black and white together more than the color gold. Also, when wearing this color duo, I prefer black shoes over white shoes. There is something about the black that draws the eye in over the white, and a black shoe adds a touch of class and glamour to the outfit that a white shoe doesn’t provide. Of course, you can defy my fashion preference by wearing shoes that are both black and white in color. Fashion is meant to be enjoyed, to be played with, to entice. Whatever works for you is what works the best, by far.

The Color White Fun Fact: White may indicate the completion of a cycle in your life – you may find that you have a desire to wear white clothing at a time when you are moving in a new direction in your life.

The Color Black Fun Fact: Black is often associated with sexiness and seduction, as in the temptress dressing in sexy black lingerie, creating an aura of mystery and intrigue.

Your skin tone, eye color and hair coloring will make a difference as to how you wear the black and white ensemble. I have fair, porcelain skin, blond hair and blue eyes, so my features show up more when I wear black over white. For those of you with darker skin, eyes and hair, the color white is more of a contrast for you, and your features will pop out when accented with the color white.

Black and white, the height of sophisticated glamour and pretty girl perkiness.

The Contrast of Black and White: Black is the end, but the end always implies a new beginning. When the light appears, black becomes white, the color of new horizons.

Enough of the black and white analyzing? Okay, here is the most excellent component of wearing black and white clothes together: the look is jaw dropping! If you need proof, run your eyes back over these black and white fashion photographs. The pictures draw you in and the outfits are truly mesmerizing to the eye. If nothing else, black and white, when worn as partners, creates a splendid, mighty, noticeable sight.

Black and white, out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind? Not when your gorgeous body is wrapped in the seduction and the elegance that is black and white. You’ll be remembered way after the party is over.

Keep people guessing with the character traits of your true personality by wearing the opposite colors of black and white. Too much black can cause depression and mood swings. Too much white can cause feelings of isolation and emptiness. Stir up black and white, and add some glitz and glam to your night.
