The San Diego Padres updated Team Outlook after 42-year-old DH Nelson Cruz signed a one-year, $1M deal with the team in free agency. The veteran slugger has been one of the best bats in the league since his debut, as from 2008 to 2021, he hit 434 home runs, the most of anyone over that stretch. Cruz, a seven-time All-Star, is coming off a down season where he hit .234/.313/.337 with the Nationals.
