Smyths Toys announces partnership renewal with Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity – A1 Retail Magazine
Smyths Toys, one of the UK’s largest toy companies, has renewed its partnership with children’s charity Rays of Sunshine for another year to help them continue to brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
Smyths Toys has 137 stores across the UK and Ireland and provides the largest range of the latest and greatest toys, baby, outdoor and gaming products making it the perfect partner for Rays of Sunshine.
As well as renewing its highly successful partnership with the charity, Smyths Toys is also doubling its financial commitment to Rays of Sunshine with a donation of £100,000.
Sinead Byrne, Joint Head of Marketing from Smyths Toys said: “Rays of Sunshine works extremely hard to provide wishes for seriously ill children by granting wishes and supporting children during their time in hospital, so it is an honour to be able to help them continue their important work. By helping them grant wishes and making them even more magical, and by providing vital funding, we are committed to helping the charity support children and their families on an ongoing basis.”
Dr Michele Afif, Chief Executive of Rays of Sunshine commented: “Smyths Toys has been a valued partner over the last year, and this renewed partnership and additional investment means a great deal to us. This support enhances and extends our work brightening the lives of seriously ill children while also achieving Smyths Toys’ objectives of encouraging learning and creativity in children and providing fun and games for all children.
‘From arranging for children such as Alexander to meet his Paw Patrol hero Marshall, and making our wish experiences even more magical, we are very grateful to have Smyths Toys double its financial commitment and renew the partnership for a second year.”
Rays of Sunshine children’s charity was formed in 2003 to brighten the lives of seriously ill young people and their families across the UK by granting wishes and providing ongoing support in hospital and within the community. For more information, please visit: www.raysofsunshine.org.uk
